British Gas Business comprises of two main divisions: Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) and Corporate. And while each has a different approach to the way they work with customers, both have the same ultimate aims of becoming the leading Business to Business provider and most importantly, getting it right first time for our customers.

Account Managers

Our Account Managers play a huge role in the future of our business, operating in both our Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) and Corporate divisions. So one AM could be looking after 3,000 of our smaller customers, or be part of a team dealing with just one large corporate client. Both types of role call for excellent communication and people skills, and you’ll also be making daily decisions which affect the profitability of the company, so commercial savvy is key.

Collections

The Collections department plays a vital role in the profitability of the business by keeping the cash flowing. As such we place a huge emphasis on this area, aiming to deal with customer debts before they become too difficult to collect. There are numerous reasons why these debts build up, so we tackle each with a fresh approach in order to work through the issue with the customer. As well as commercial astuteness, you’ll need good negotiation skills to join us in this area.
